SKILLS ASSESSMENT ANNOUNCEMENT/DETAILS (Spring 2022 has moved to 02/12/2022)

•  Location: Cedar Park Youth League 1225 Cypress Creek Rd. Cedar Park, Texas 78613
• Check In: At fields starting @ 9:30 - through end of assessment.
• Field: Please see below for age division field assignments Time (Please below for specifics)
• What to Bring: Batting helmet, baseball/softball bat, and glove. Concessions will not be available so please bring your own water, sports drinks, etc. Practice attire should be worn. Cleats are optional, but highly recommended for Saturday's tryout. NO METAL CLEATS ALLOWED.
• Process: All players must check in at the appropriate age division check in locations and receive an identification number sticker to be placed on your player’s shirt. Your player will not be able to tryout until he/she checks in.
• 6U, 8U & 10U Baseball fielding/batting check in stations will be in the lower fields next to Big Blue under the pavilion.
• 12U and up Baseball stations will be in the upper fields next to the boardroom under portable tents.
• All Softball age divisions check in stations will be in the lower fields next to Big Blue under the pavilion.

• 8 Pitches per pitcher to a catcher off the mound
• Player will be allowed to warm up and throw in the outfield

BASEBALL

• 10U Wrigley Field 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
• 12U & 14U 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at upper fields then move to regular assessment at 11:00 a.m.

SOFTBALL

• 10U, 12U, 14U If you catch or pitch, you will stay after your age division assessments to catch and pitch

FIELDING AND HITTING Assessment (Groups of 5 Players at a time)

1. Players get 5 swings at bat
2. 5th Swing play runs to 2B
3. Player will field 3 ground balls and 2 pop-ups at SS and throw to first (no pop-ups for 6U, 8U, or 10U)

BASEBALL (Field Assignments and Times)

• 6U – Catalina Field – 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  
• 8U – Ebbets Field – 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  
• 10U – Wrigley Field - 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.  
• 12U – Fenway Park 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
  • PITCHING ASSESSMENT - 10:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m.
  • SKILLS ASSESSMENT - 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.         
• 14U – Camden Yards 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • PITCHING ASSESSMENT - 10:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m.
  • SKILLS ASSESSMENT - 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

SOFTBALL (Field Assignments and Times)

• 6U at 10am on Little Field
• 8U at 11am on Little Field
• 10U at 10am on Diamond Field
• 12U at 11:30 on Diamond Field
• 14U at 1pm on Diamond Field

* Only players that attend skills assessment will be allowed to be drafted to a National League team.  Those who do not attend skills assessment will be randomly placed on a team by CPYL (American League for baseball). Protected players DO NOT need to attend skills assessment.

* Unregistered or wait listed players are to check in at the boardroom. Unregistered or wait listed players are not guaranteed to be drafted.
