In an ongoing effort to improve our league and better serve our members, I am pleased to announce that last week the Board of Directors approved by a majority vote (16 in favor, 5 against) to open baseball’s National League to those managers wishing to bring a team - if they feel they can be competitive, and can meet the following criteria:
Submit your signed protect form to the appropriate league commissioner by midnight on Friday, 1/28 with the following number of protects:
5/6U - Minimum of 5; Maximum of 6
7/8U - Minimum of 6; Maximum of 7
9/10U - Minimun of 7; Maximum of 8
11/12U - Minimum of 8; Maximum of 9
Falling below the minimum required protects (e.g., your team falls below 7 protects at the 10U division) after the deadline will force your team to be classified as an American League team (with number of protects dictated by AL rules (4 protects for 5/6U, 7/8U, 9/10U; and 5 protects for 11/12U).
No additions or player changes to the protect form will be allowed after the deadline.
Managers will be subject to the standard background checks, NTP violations, managing experience, parent feedback, etc. as we have always done in the past.
